Family Life
It seems as if “the Hughes clan” (as we call it) is well-known throughout the greater Seattle area. My dad Steve, one of six children, and my mom Nancy, one of eight children, joined two huge families together and have made for countless cousins and plenty of crazy holiday gatherings.

For a few years now, my dad has been developing a new obsession: wine. Though forever, a content wine-drinker, he has now taken upon the task of making his own wine and developing numerous varietals. Aptly named after our home’s location on Three Tree Point, his brand, Three Tree Cellars, has been cranking out bottle after bottle, largely created through the creation of his own materials and machinery. Nancy’s Ceramics:
While Dad is off picking, crushing, and bottling all the grapes he can get his hands on, Mom needs to stay busy too right? Always a creative and artistic lady, she decided to start taking a ceramics class where she had the freedom to create some art that is truly impressive. She embarked on a mission to create “vineyard critters” that adorn the wine vineyard that is growing on the hillside by our house. Take a look at these handcrafted works of art:
