In The Works
In just a couple of months, I will be thrust out into the “real” world and have to forget all about GPAs, exams, and pulling all-nighters to finish research papers. While this reality doesn’t seem too bad, this life is all I’ve known since I was five, and will now be forced to decide which direction I would like my life to go. I’ve known for many years that I want to work in the fashion industry, but since it’s one of the largest industries in the world, I have a lot to think about.
My ultimate goal at this time is to be buyer for a large-sized retail store, specifically in women’s apparel. Obviously, a fresh faced kid straight out of college like myself won’t jump right into a position like this…but we can all dream right?
Recently, I have also become increasingly interested in the e-tailing end of the spectrum. I have always had an interest in computers, and since I’ve learned more about web design and how online commerce works, I feel like I might like a place there. I would still have a lot to learn (since this amateur website is about the extent of my knowledge), but would be happy to do so and try my hand at this end of the industry.
Hopefully within the next few years I will be able to work my way up to a position I love and will be writing about all of my thrilling and wild experiences in this world we call fashion.
